As Co-Chairs of the VCSE Strategy Group for Guildford & Waverley, we along with Citizens Advice South West Surrey, are carrying out a survey to help give us a clearer understanding of the impact that the structural changes happening within local government and health will have on us as a sector.
Please could we ask that you complete the survey by Sunday 22nd February.

Why we are asking for this information
Local government and health systems are currently undergoing, or preparing for, significant structural change, including local government reorganisation and health system reconfiguration. These changes may affect how councils and health bodies fund, commission and work with the VCSE sector in Guildford and Waverley.
VCSE organisations play a critical role in supporting residents, preventing crisis, reducing demand on statutory services, and reaching communities that may otherwise struggle to access support. However, the full extent of this contribution, and the potential risks posed by funding changes, is not always visible within system-level decision-making.
Purpose of this survey
This survey aims to build a clear, evidence-based picture of:
How dependent VCSE organisations are on council and health funding
The scale and reach of VCSE activity across Guildford and Waverley
The potential impact that a reduction or loss of funding would have on organisations, staff, volunteers, and the people they support
The wider knock-on effects for communities, statutory services, and the local VCSE system
The information gathered will be used to inform discussions with councils, health partners and other stakeholders, and to advocate for continued recognition and support of the VCSE sector during periods of change.
We appreciate that the survey is extensive, but we hope it will provide a clear picture of the importance of the VCSE sector to statutory partners during a turbulent time of restructures and funding cuts.
Why your response matters
Each response helps ensure that:
The collective impact of the VCSE sector is properly understood
Risks to essential preventative and community-based services are visible
Decision-makers have real-world evidence of the consequences of funding changes
The voices of VCSE organisations and the communities they support are represented
Even if your organisation receives a small amount of council or health funding, or feels only indirectly affected, your experience is important in building a complete picture.
About completing the survey
The survey should take approximately 15/20 minutes to complete
Approximate figures are acceptable where exact data is not available
All responses will be handled sensitively and used in aggregate wherever possible
Thank you for taking the time to contribute. Your insight is vital in helping to protect and strengthen the VCSE sector locally during a period of uncertainty.
